Do you have a favorite MYS-specific story?
Right after I started at MYS, several co-workers planned a movie night in the office after work. I had such a wonderful time connecting with everyone over a movie and Chipotle. That was when I first realized how lucky I am to work for a company with such a fun, strong culture.
What are the best parts of Cincinnati and its surrounding area?
The music scene – I live for going to concerts (and music in general). I grew up in such a small town, so I usually had to travel at least an hour for a show. Cincinnati quickly became my go-to place for any live show and has connected me with so many other music fans.
The food (and drinks) – Between all of the amazing local eateries and the breweries/wineries, there’s not a chance of going hungry or thirsty here. My go-to places to eat are Currito, Graeters, and Asian Paradise. For wineries, I like Meranda-Nixon Winery, O'Bannon Creek Vineyard, and Valley Vineyards.
UC – University of Cincinnati is one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve seen. As a proud alumna, I still love cheering on the Bearcats and visiting the place where my love for Cincinnati all began.
You grew up near a huge, annual collection of country concerts. Favorite experience?
Country Concert in Ft. Loramie is by far my favorite music festival; while I may be a bit biased because I grew up 10 minutes down the road, it never disappoints. Fans travel near and far just to be there every year, which speaks volumes for the event. Every year they have a wide selection of old and new country stars performing on 2 stages, and some of my best memories are from each of the years I’ve attended.
My favorite experience is a tie between my first time there in 2013 and when I introduced my boyfriend to the event a few years later. Between the people I went with, the people I met there, and the lineups those years, my experiences are unforgettable. Now we try to make it a tradition to go annually with some of our friends and family to enjoy the music and the party.
If you weren’t here at MYS right now, what would you be doing for work?
Honestly, I’d probably still be working in the events industry in some way.
You have to delete all but 3 apps off your phone. What are you keeping and why?
Spotify, because there’s no life without music; Instagram, because I still need to stay connected; and Libby, because there’s nothing better than fully immersing myself in a good novel.
